Boxee

Boxee is an open source, “social” media center available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Apple TV. Not only can Boxee play almost every audio and video format available, it also has social features allowing you to share what you play, like, or dislike with your friends. Most notable of Boxee’s features is its Applications (similar to channels) which allow you to stream internet content from dozens of sources including Netflix, MLB.TV, Comedy Central, Pandora, Last.fm, and flickr. We recommend Boxee for anyone just getting started with HTPCs.
